Round Lake Food Pantry Intake
Signup for this COVID-friendly volunteer opportunity! Catholic Charities has opened a food pantry in Round Lake, Illinois, at 101 N Cedar Lake Road. The pantry is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays with two shifts - one from 10 am to noon and the other from 2 - 4 pm. People in need of food call in to a volunteer who registers them over the phone, keying basic information into a spreadsheet. Once registered, the information is sent to the Food Pantry where a second set of volunteers gather the food items and deliver them to the waiting vehicle. Since many of the people coming to the pantry prefer to speak Spanish, bilingual volunteers are especially needed.
COVID protocols are in place to keep you safe. As with all employees who enter the building, volunteers are required to answer screening questions and have their temperature taken each time you volunteer. The Intake is done in a private office that is cleaned between volunteers.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 15+, Minimum Age:18+, Background Check
